House Democrats Strongly Oppose Legislation Aimed at Limiting Voter Participation Among Minorities, Youth, and the Elderly

At a press conference in Richmond this afternoon, House Democrats came out strongly against HB9, HB63, and a slew of other bills aimed at making the voting process more difficult for voters who are older, more transient, and may lack certain forms of identification due to social or economic status. Members of the House Democratic Caucus joined Congressman Bobby Scott, Richmond Mayor Dwight Jones, Civil Rights Leader Dr. Benjamin Chavis, and other concerned citizens at a morning rally at the Capitol Square Bell Tower in opposition to the measures.
