Storm Update: Monday Morning March 3, 2014
Dear Friends,
This promises to be the storm of the season. Governor McAuliffe has declared a State of Emergency in Virginia. This means that additional emergency personnel are on duty; state agencies are assisting local efforts where possible. Among the suggestions in the Governor’s message are the following:
• Be prepared to take care of yourself and your family for at least 72 hours, in case roads are blocked and/or there are power outages.

We are about to enter the final week of the 2014 Session. At this point, almost all of my bills have had their fate determined, and there have definitely been some successes. Dear Friends,
Unfortunately, the snow has forced us to postpone the Town Hall Meeting scheduled for this Saturday. It will be held next Saturday, Feb. 22, at the same time and place: Sleepy Hollow Elementary, 3333 Sleepy Hollow Rd., Falls Church, from10:30 am to 12:00 noon. I hope to see you there.

Richmond Report: January 31, 2014: status of legislation, joint town hall meeting

We are nearing this session's halfway point. The House has about a week and a half left to complete work on its bills, including the budget. Feb. 15 is crossover, the deadline for legislation that has passed in the body where it originated to be sent to the other body. During these last weeks the House will be hearing bills that have passed the Senate and vice‐versa.. Here is how things stand with my legislative slate:
